1. Ambrose¹ Barcroft was born Kingwood Twp, Hunterdon Co, NJ February 1, 1745. Ambrose died September 3, 1817 Kingwood Twp, Hunterdon Co, NJ, at 72 years of age. Buried at Rosemont, Hunterdon, New Jersey

He married three times. He married Alice Waterhouse in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey, 1769. Alice was born Kingwood Twp, Hunterdon Co, NJ August 17, 1750. Alice died April 27, 1771 Kingwood Twp, Hunterdon Co, NJ, at 20 years of age. He married Sarah Davis 1776. Sarah was born in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey 1754. Sarah died February 20, 1782 at 27 years of age. He married Frances Opdyke 1786. Frances was born Kingwood Twp, Hunterdon Co, NJ 1757. Frances was the daughter of Joshua Opdyke and Ann Green. Frances died 1809 Kingwood Twp, Hunterdon Co, NJ, at 52 years of age. Buried at the old Baptist Church cemetery, Baptistown Hunterdon Co NJ

Ambrose Barcroft and Frances Opdyke had the following children:

3 ii. Ambrose Barcroft was born Kingwood Twp, Hunterdon Co, NJ March 31, 1793. Ambrose died February 20, 1881 at 87 years of age. He married Anna Woolverton in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey, December 30, 1815. Anna was born about 1793.

+ 4 iii. Richard Barcroft was born September 5, 1798.
