1. Aaron¹ Barcroft was born in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey June 6, 1777.

He married Margaret Opdyke. Margaret was born in Pennsylvania 1782. (Additional notes for Margaret Opdyke⁽¹⁶⁰⁾) In the 1850 census Kingwood Twp, Hunterdon co NJ page 148, Aaron (age 72) is recorded with Margareet (age 67), Sarah (age 38) and Edward Rittenhouse (age 19). He is a farmer born in NJ.

In teh 1870 census Flemington Raritan Twp, Hunterdon Co NJ page 284, Aaron (age 92) is recorded with Charles Tomlinson (age 50).

Aaron Barcroft and Margaret Opdyke had the following children:

2 i. Thomas² Barcroft.

3 ii. Ann Barcroft was born Kingwood Twp, Hunterdon Co, NJ August 8, 1807. Ann died March 2, 1890 at 82 years of age. She married John Bray Rittenhouse December 22, 1827. John was born Kingwood Twp, Hunterdon Co, NJ January 6, 1803. John was the son of Edward Rittenhouse and Elizabeth Bray. John died September 6, 1859 Kingwood Twp, Hunterdon Co, NJ, at 56 years of age. (See John Bray Rittenhouse for the continuation of this line.) In the 1860 census Baptistown Kingwood Hunterdon NJ page, Ann (age 51) is recorded with Thomas (age 17), Hamilton (age 14), George (age 10).
