1. James J¹ Baars was born in Holland 1877.

He married Gertrude unknown in Holland, 1898. Gertrude was born in Holland 1878. In the 1920 census Brighton Twp, Monroe Co NY page 26, James (age 42), is recorded with his wife Gertrude (age 41), Majorie (age 19), Cornelius (age 17), Elizabeth (age 16), William (age 14), John (age 12), Harry (age 11), Lina (age 7), Mary (age 6), Gertrude (age 4y6m), and James (age 2y11m). The family came to this countried in 1914. James is a copper molder and all were born in Holland except Gertrude and James who were born in NY.

In the 1930 census 191 Winterroth Street, Rochester, Monroe Co NY page 23, James (age 52), is recorded with his wife Gertrude (age 52), William (age 23), John (age 22), Harry (age 20), Lena (age 18), Mary (age 16), Gertrude (age 14), and James (age 13). The family came to this countried in 1914 and James and Gertrude were frist married at age 21. James is a lanscaper gardener and all were born in Holland except Gertrude and James who were born in NY.

James J Baars and Gertrude unknown had the following children:

2 i. Majorie D² Baars was born in Holland 1900.

3 ii. Cornelius W Baars was born in Holland 1902.

4 iii. Elizabeth D Baars was born in Holland February 27, 1904. Elizabeth died November 1977 in Brighton Twp, Monroe Co, New York, at 73 years of age. She married Edward Corteville in Monroe Co, NY, February 12, 1921. Edward was born in Brighton Twp, Monroe Co, New York December 1, 1894. Edward was the son of John Corteville and Diana VanDerMallie. Edward died October 9, 1944 at 49 years of age. (See Edward Corteville for the continuation of this line.)

5 iv. William C Baars was born in Holland September 5, 1906. William died July 1965 New York, at 58 years of age.

6 v. John Baars was born in Holland April 14, 1908. John died July 1973 Rochester, Monroe Co, NY, at 65 years of age.

7 vi. Harry Baars was born in Holland December 22, 1909. Harry died July 1969 Rochester, Monroe Co, NY, at 59 years of age.

8 vii. Lina Baars was born in Holland 1912.

9 viii. Mary A Baars (still alive).

10 ix. Gertrude Baars (still alive).

11 x. James J Baars was born in Monroe Co, NY January 21, 1917. James died July 1975 New York, at 58 years of age.
