Orrin E Allen of VanDerMark Rd, died Thursday (Dec 19, 1968) at Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville followinf a brief illness. He was born March 15, 1875 at Black Creek, a son of Albert and Louella Jane Hathaway Allen, He married the formaer Carrie Jennison who survives. Mr Allen was a retired employee of the Alfred Southern Tier Concrete Products. Surviving besides his widow are three daughters, Mrs Orianna Kemp of Belmont, Mrs Freda Jacobs of Buffalo and Mrs Edith Monahan of Andover; two sons Harold E Allen of Alfred Station and Leslie W Allen of Sacul Texas; step daughter Mrs Hazel Blake of Belmont; 14 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter; two sisters, Mrs Mary Stoffell and Mrs Florence McDonald, both of Hornell; two brothers Earl L Allen of Elmira and Clifford W Allen of Virginia; several nieces and nephews.
He married Carrie Louisa Jenison in Allegany Co, New York, about 1927. Carrie was born in Shongo, Allegany Co, NY May 3, 1900. Carrie was the daughter of Samuel Ebenezer Jenison and Emma Mae Farnham. BELMONT - Ann J. Kemp, 86, of 13 Schuyler St., passed away in the Wellsville Manor Care Center on Friday (June 6, 2014), following a lengthy illness.
She was born in the town of Willing on June 28, 1927, the daughter of Orin and Carrie Jenison Allen. On May 3, 1946, in Wellsville, she married Calvin F. Kemp, who predeceased her on Sept. 23, 1989.
She had attended the Andover High School.
For several years she was employed at the Belmont American Legion Post and the Belmont Hotel, and had retired from the Allegany County Jail, where she was a cook.
Surviving are daughters, Beth (Don) Baker of Belmont, Tina Wright of Belfast and Dawn (Fred) Cook of Friendship; sons, Calvin E. (Joan) Kemp and Allen F. (Anne) Kemp, both of Belmont; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; a sister, Edythe A. Monahan of LeRoy; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband; and a son, David L. Kemp in 1971.
Honoring her request, there will be no visitation or services. Born in Shongo, he was a son of the late Orrin and Carrie Jenison Allen. Mr. Allen was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and was an Army veteran, serving as a military policeman in the 82nd Airborne. He was an operating engineer and retired as the highway superintendent for the town of Scio. He loved children, horses, deer hunting, fishing and telling poems and stories.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth Allen; son, James Allen of Richburg; daughter, Kathleen Allen of Hendersonville, N.C.; sisters, Edythe Monahan of Leroy and Anne Kemp of Belmont; grandchildren, Gretchen, Heidi, Cody, Travis, Dan, Jeremy, Andra and Angela; four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Renee Thompson; brother, Leslie Allen; and a sister, Freida Jacobs.
Services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery in Ridge Spring, S.C. with the Rev. Vollie Gibbes officiating. 1940 lived in Andover NY
