1. William R1 Botts was born in Guernsey Co, Ohio June 2, 1822. William died April 27, 1901 at 78 years of age.

He married Damaris Weld Duer in Guernsey Co, Ohio, April 27, 1845. Damaris was born in Medina Co, Ohio 1824. In the 1850 census Wills Twp, Guernsey Co Ohio page 226, William (age 28) is recorded with Damarias (age 26), Clamentny? (age 4), and John (age 2). All births are recorded as Ohio and William has no occupation listed.

In the 1870 census Bear Grove Guthery Co, Iowa Page 157, William (age 45) is recorded with Damorus (age 44), John (age 21), James (age 16), William (age 14), Joseph (age 12), Clemansa (age 9), Douglas (age 7), Henry (age 4), and Sarah (age 3). William is recorded as a farmer.

In the 1880 census Bear Grove Guthery Co, Iowa Page 30, William (age 58) is recorded with Dawain (age 56), Henry (age 15), and Sarah (age 13). William is recorded as a farmer.

William R Botts and Damaris Weld Duer had the following children:

child 7 vi. Joseph Cleveland Botts was born in Camppoint, Adams Co, Illinois May 19, 1858. Joseph died January 27, 1934 in Woodstock, McHenry Co, Illinois, at 75 years of age.

child 8 vii. Clemenza Botts was born in Adams Co, Illinois 1860.

child 9 viii. Alfred Douglas Botts was born in Adams Co, Illinois 1862.

child 10 ix. Henry M Botts was born in Guthrie Co, Iowa 1866. In the 1870 census Henry's birth is recorded as Illinois.

child 11 x. Sarah E Botts was born in Guthrie Co, Iowa 1867.
