Rachel was the daughter of Samuel Stout and Sarah Curtis. Rachel died September 29, 1861 in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey, at 33 years of age. burried at Kingwood Presbyterian Church - Oak Summit
He married Martha Dalrymple in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey, December 24, 1862. Martha was born 1825. In the 1860 census Frenchtown Alexandria Twp Hunterdon NJ page 50, Richard (age 34) is recorded with Rachel (age 31), Fred (age 7), Thisby (age 6), Sarah (age 4), and Elenor (age 2). Richard is a day labor with all births as NJ.
In the 1870 census Frenchtown Alexandria Hunterdon NJ page 8, Richard (age 45) is recorded with Martha (age 43), and Frederick (age 18). Richard is a farmer and all births are NJ.
In the 1880 census Alexandria Hunterdon NJ page 211, Richard (age 55) is recorded with Martha (age 54), and Jennie Sutton (age 21). (age 18). Richard is a farmer and all births are NJ.
