38. Robert⁸ Linton (Jonathan Fallis⁷, Samuel Smith⁶, Nathan⁵, Samuel⁴, Benjamin³, John², Roger¹)⁽³⁴⁴⁸⁾ was born in Willow Creek, Lee Co IL October 15, 1860. Robert died August 10, 1944 in Hastings, Dakota Co, MN, at 83 years of age. Buried at Lakeside Cemetary, Hastings MN.

He married Mary Hester Pettingill in St. Paul, Ramsey Co, MN, February 14, 1888. Molly was born in Charlestown, Suffolk Co, Mass October 6, 1852. (Additional notes for Mary Hester Pettingill⁽³⁴⁴⁹⁾) Molly died December 15, 1945 in Anoka, Hennepin Co, MN, at 93 years of age. Buried at Lakeside Cemetary, Hastings MN.

Robert Linton and Mary Hester Pettingill had the following children:

44 i. Harriet Mary⁹ Linton⁽³⁴⁵⁰⁾ was born in Rich Valley, Dakota Co, MN March 11, 1889. Harriet died March 5, 1906 St Paul, Dakota Co, MN, at 16 years of age.

45 ii. William Eaton Linton⁽³⁴⁵¹⁾ was born in Rich Valley, Dakota Co, MN June 10, 1893. Bill died May 8, 1986 in Anoka, Hennepin Co, MN, at 92 years of age. married and had 4 sons

+ 46 iii. Edward Milton Linton was born January 25, 1896.
