1. Henry¹ Luehrs was born in Hanover, Germany 1818.

He married Sophia unknown about 1841. Sophia was born in Hanover, Germany 1828. In the 1860 census Milan Twp, Allen Co, Indiana, page 404, Henry (age 42), is recorded with Sophia (age 32), Christina (age 8) and Henry (age 2).

In the 1870 census Chamberlair P.O., Milan Twp, Allen Co, Indiana, page 573, Henry (age 52), is recorded with Sophia (age 45), Christina (age 18), Henry (age 12), Charles (age 9), and Caroline (age 3). Henry is a farmer with a farm value of $3,000 and personal value of $550.

In the 1880 census Milan Twp, Allen Co, Indiana, page 404, Henry (age 62), is recorded with Sophia (age 55), Henry (age 23), Charles (age 20), and Caroline (age 13).

Henry Luehrs and Sophia unknown had the following children:

2 i. Catharina Wilhelmine² Luehrs was born in Milan Twp, Allen Co, IN May 1851. She married Dietrich Wilhelm Gallmeyer in Allen Co, Indiana, October 3, 1872. Dietrich was born in Bierde 31, Lahde, Westphalia January 4, 1844. Dietrich⁽³⁴⁹⁹⁾ was the son of Ernst Dietrich Gallmeyer and Ilse Marie Louise Sophie Charlotte Doepner. Dietrich died June 24, 1909 in Milan Twp, Allen Co, IN, at 65 years of age. (See Dietrich Wilhelm Gallmeyer for the continuation of this line.) Her parents were both born in Germany.

3 ii. Henry Luehrs was born in Milan Twp, Allen Co, IN 1858.

4 iii. Charles Luehrs was born in Milan Twp, Allen Co, IN 1861.

5 iv. Caroline Luehrs⁽³⁵⁰⁰⁾ was born in Milan Twp, Allen Co, IN 1867. She married Henry Kruse in Allen Co, Indiana, May 3, 1888. Henry was born about 1868.
