169. Samuel6 McClure (William5, John4, John3, Unknown2, unknown1) was born in Carlisle, Cumberland Co, PA August 06, 1792. Samuel died in McKeesport, Allegheny Co, PA.
He married Mary Haines about 1820. Mary was born in Forward, Allegheny Co, PA about 1794. Mary died December 21, 1872 in McKeesport, Allegheny Co, PA, at 78 years of age. This Samuel is recorded as William and Mary's son. So far very little information on this Samuel is known. Since is has been said that Samuel (this mans recorded son) had a father named Samuel, I have placed Samuel here only because the dates fit. He would have been 20 at the birth of Samuel. This Samuel is the only recorded Samuel that has been found living at the correct time. Again the link between father and son is only an educated guess!
He followed the occupation of ship carpenter, and worked for many years at Elizabeth during the palmy days of her boat building era. In 1849 he removed to McKeesport,
In the 1850 census McKeesport, Alleghany Co, PA page , Samuel (age 54) is recorded with Mary (age 54), Samuel (age 21), Mary Ann (age 24), Theodore (age 15), and Quincy (age 8). Samuel is noted as a ship carpenter.
