2. Paxson2 Pursell (William1) was born in New Jersey 1837.

He married Mary K Rich. Mary was born in Pennsylvania 1839. In the 1860 census Lumberville, Solebury Twp, Bucks Co PA page 721, Paxson Pursel (age 22) is listed as a clerk recorded with Samuel Firman (age 33) a merchant.

This is an excerpt from THE HISTORY OF BUCKS COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, CHAPTER XV, NEWTOWN, 1703.: The Raguet store was in the two-story brick where Paxson Pursell kept, and what was later known as the "Middle store" was Raguet's wagon-house, on the opposite side of the street.

A Paxson Pursell enlisted as a private in Company D, 45th Infantry Regiment of PA on July 1 1863 and was mustered out on August 29 1863.

In the 1870 census Newtown, Bucks Co PA page 457, Paxson (age 32) is recorded with Mary K (age 30), Walter (age 3), and Allice (age 2). Paxson is a Store Keeper born in New Jersey.

In the 1880 census Newtown, Bucks Co PA page 463, Paxson (age 42) is recorded with Mary K (age 41), Walter (age 13), Alice (age 12), Isabella Patton (age 48, servant), and nephew Edmund Pursell (age 17). Paxson is a Store Keeper born in New Jersey.

Paxson Pursell and Mary K Rich had the following children:

child 9 ii. Alice R Pursell was born Bucks Co, Pennsylvania 1867.
