Buried at Garrison-Tharp Cemetery, Garrison Court off County Road 579, Bethlehem Township, Hunterdon County, NJ. Surrounded by white picket fence. Mary Huff Robins b. abt. 1764 d. February 13, 1817, wife of Jonathan Robins, Jr. (Jonathan Robins Jr. is the brother of Isaac Robins, the father of Dinah Robins. Jonathan and Mary Huff Robins are the Uncle and Aunt of Dinah Robins. The headstone was found in the ground covered by 1 inch of dirt, next to upright slate stone that is in poor condition and unreadable which may be Jonathan Robins, Jr.. This is the oldest burial evident in the cemetery so far.)

An unreadable stone next to Mary Huff Robins which may be her husband Jonathan Robins, Jr., b. about 1742, who is the brother of Isaac Robins and Uncle to Dinah Robins Garrison. The stone is in very poor shape. It is slate in which the front has peeled off and no readable inscription can be seen.

He married Mary Huff about 1762. Mary was born about 1745. (Additional notes for Mary Huff(4575)) Mary died February 13, 1817 Alexandria Twp, Hunterdon Co, NJ, at 71 years of age. buried in Garrison-Tharp Cemetery, Hunterdon County, New Jersey

He lived on the original Robins estate and reared a large family. The number of children is thought to be 12. This additional information was obtained from the Huff research. We originally had Jonathan married to a Sarah. Have changed the spouse to Mary Huff. Also in this early research there is a ROBBINS, CHRISTIANNA that is not included in a later list. Christianna Robbins was born of the family in Warren Co, Of course all of the Rob(b)ins family had many Jonathans.

Jonathan Robins and Mary Huff had the following children:

child 14 i. Elizabeth3 Robins was born about 1763. Elizabeth is deceased.

child 15 ii. Isaac Robins was born in Bethlehem Twp, Hunterdon Co, NJ about 1780. He married Mary Rupel about 1800. Mary was born about 1780. Mary was the daughter of Joseph Rupel.

The census is a little hard to read and the note at the left looks like it says New House or maybe Poor House.

child 25 xii. Abigail Robins was born Hickory Corner, Hunterdon, NJ March 2, 1810. Abigail died June 20, 1873 Alexandria Twp, Hunterdon Co, NJ, at 63 years of age. Buried in the Pattenburg United Methodist Church Cemetery , Pattenberg NJ along with her daughter-in-law Caroline Godown Robins and son Jacob and their daughter Emma. Grave stone record her age as Aged 63 Years, 3 Months, 18 Days She married John A Godown Alexandria Twp, Hunterdon Co, NJ, March 12, 1825.

John was born in Amwell Twp, Hunterdon Co, New Jersey February 12, 1787. John was the son of Jacob Godown and Sarah Elizabeth Lake. John died October 16, 1847 Ithaca, Thompkins Co, NY, at 60 years of age. (See John A Godown for the continuation of this line.) Hard work, privation, and selfish treatment by her brothers, undermined her mentality. For some time after John's began having his mental problems, her son Jacob and his wife lived with her and took care of her at Hickory Dell.

The Hunterdon County Marriage records have her first name spelled Abegel.

I have yet to find Abigail in any of the census records of 1850, 1860 or 1870.

In the 1850 census Alexander Twp, Hunterdon Co NJ page 181, there lists an Abigail Gordon (age 44) listed with Michael Fraley (age 52), Clushaun? (age 49) and William Fraley (age 23).
