First Generation

1. John1 Snook(4970) was born in New Jersey 1798.

He married Kesiah Hise in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey, September 28, 1822. Kesiah was born 1798. Kesiah(4971) was the daughter of Jacob Hise and Phoebe unknown. Kesiah died 1864 at 66 years of age. In the 1850 census Hopewell Twp, Mercer Co NJ page 95, John (age 52) is recorded with Keziah (age 49), Asher (age 23), Sarah (age 20), Elizabeth (age 20), and John (age 7). John is noted as being a farmer.

In the 1860 census Pennington P.O., Hopewell Twp, Mercer Co NJ page 311, John (age 62) is recorded with Keziah (age 60). John is noted as being a bridge tender.

In the 1870 census Pennington P.O., Hopewell Twp, Mercer Co NJ page 162, John (age 70), is recorded with the family of George Snook (age 39) and family.

John Snook and Kesiah Hise had the following children:

child 2 i. Asher2 Snook was born in New Jersey 1827.

child 3 ii. Sarah Snook was born in New Jersey 1830.

child + 4 iii. George W Snook was born 1831.

child 5 iv. Elizabeth Snook was born in New Jersey November 20, 1831. Elizabeth died November 12, 1926 at 94 years of age. Burial: Kizer Cemetery Cortez, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, USA She married George Washington Spangenberg in Pennsylvania, May 5, 1850.

George was born in Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania March 16, 1825. George was the son of Jacob Spangenberg and Fedelia Bartlow. George died February 13, 1904 in Pennsylvania, at 78 years of age. Burial: Kizer Cemetery Cortez, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, USA (See George Washington Spangenberg for the continuation of this line.)
