1. John Meridth¹ Thomas⁽⁵²⁵⁷⁾ was born in Highland Co, OH January 10, 1841. John died August 6, 1927 in VanBuren Co, Iowa, at 86 years of age.

He married Tabitha J Ellis in Keosauqua, Van Buren Co, IA, May 23, 1861. Tabitha was born in Harrison Co, IN April 25, 1845. (Additional notes for Tabitha J Ellis⁽⁵²⁵⁸⁾) Tabitha died July 11, 1893 in VanBuren Co, Iowa, at 48 years of age.

John Meridth Thomas and Tabitha J Ellis had the following children:

2 i. Samatha² Thomas⁽⁵²⁵⁹⁾.

+ 3 ii. Elias Sanford Thomas was born March 11, 1874.
