He married twice. He married Jane Curtis. Jane was born in New Jersey 1802. Jane was the daughter of David Curtis and Elizabeth Smith. Jane died April 18, 1871 at 68 years of age. Burial: Frenchtown Cemetery Frenchtown, Hunterdon County, New Jersey, USA

He married Hannah Thatcher April 15, 1815. Hannah was born in New Jersey 1786. Hannah was the daughter of Nathaniel Thatcher and Lorana Taylor. Hannah died before 1838. In the 1850 census Kingwood Twp Hunterdon Co NJ page 134, John (age 68) is recorded with Jane (age 48), John (age 17), Davis (age 14), Mary (age 13), Susan (age 11) and Sarah (age 29). John is a farmer born in Nova Scotia.

John Taylor was a son of Edward Taylor and Sarah Curtis and grandson of John and Elizabeth Taylor. John Taylor was born Sept. 16, 1784 and died Aug. 8, 1881. He owned and lived for many years on the farm now in the possession of Paul C. Larue in Baptistown. His first wife was Hannah Thatcher, by whom he had one child. Mother and child died many years ago. His second wife was Jane Curtis, who died April 18, 1871, in her 60th year of her age. They had 7 children: Hannah, John, Jacob, Sarah E., Mary Ann, Susan Jane, Davis. John Taylor owned and lived where Dr. Leidy now resides. His first wife was Hannah, daughter of Nathaniel Thatcher. His second wife was Jane Curtis, daughter of David Curtis. Their children were: Jacob who died when a small child; John married Amy, daughter of John Shepherd; Davis married Mary Ellen, daughter of John Eick; Sarah married Andrew, son of Frances Roberson and Nancy, nee Rittenhouse; Susan Jane died when a young woman; Mary Ann married Henry Hoff. John Taylor's mother lived to be over 100 years old. Listed as s/o Edward Taylor & Hannah Thatcher. This is probably incorrect. Deaths - At Trenton, Aug. 8, 1881, John Taylor, formerly of Baptisttown, aged 96 years 10 months and 23 days. September 16th, 1784, John Taylor was born. He was a son of Edward Taylor, who settled just after the close of the Revolutionary War, at Baptisttown, on the farms now occupied by Wilson R. Kugler, John Taylor, Jr., and James Ashcroft. After his death the farm was divided and John Taylor received the farm in Baptisttown, and his brother, Thomas C., the farm on the road to Frenchtown, where he resided a short time. About five years ago he removed to Trenton, to reside with his son-in-law, Andrew Roberson. His death occurred on Monday of this week; interment at Frenchtown on Thursday. Thus one by one the men of the last century are passing away. - Lambertville Beacon.

Andrew was born in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey December 28, 1825. Andrew was the son of Francis Roberson and Elizabeth Bray. Andrew died August 12, 1893 Trenton, Mercer Co, NJ, at 67 years of age. Sarah E. was married Jan. 23, 1849, to Andrew, son of Francis and Nancy (Rittenhouse) Roberson. He was born Dec. 28, 1825, and died Aug. 12, 1893, in Trenton. He was a merchant and kept store in Baptistown, Everrittstown, Frenchtown and Trenton.

In the 1880 census 3rd Ward, District 1, Trenton, Mercer, New Jersey page 252, Andrew (age 54) is recordd with Sarah (age 52), niece Lillie Taylor (age 20), father-in-law John Taylor (age 95), Athalia Taylor (age 80), and Henry Taylor (age 18).

child 31 vii. Mary Ann Taylor was born Kingwood Twp, Hunterdon Co, NJ 1836. She married Charles Henry Hoff in Somerset Co, NJ, November 29, 1860. Charles was born in New Jersey 1838. (See Charles Henry Hoff for the continuation of this line.)

child 32 viii. Susan Jane Taylor was born Kingwood Twp, Hunterdon Co, NJ 1838. Susan died July 22, 1874 Frenchtown, Hunterdon Co, NJ, at 36 years of age.
