Mr. Alvin Wren, 33, of Wrens, Georgia, entered into rest at 11 p.m. Thursday, October 29, 1925, on the Wilson highway about seven miles north of Louisville in an automobile accident. Mr. Wren was a farmer in the Wrens section.

Mrs. Susie McTier Wren, 75, wife of the late Thomas Alvin Wren, of Wren, Georgia, entered into rest Monday, January 19, 1970, at a Louisville, Georgia hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Walden's United Methodist Church, Avera, Ga., with the Rev. Jiles Parham officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Roy Wren, Leroy Usry, Thad Usry, Leroy Wren, Gilbert Smith and Melvin Thigpen. A native of Jefferson County, she was a Fort Gordon employee for 25 years. She was a member of Walden's United Methodist Church. Survivors include two sons, George T. Wren, Augusta, and W.J. Wren, Wrens; two daughters, Mrs. Jones Godowns, Louisville, Ga., and Mrs. Eugene Allen, Wrens; daughter in law, Mrs. Edward Wren, Wrens; two sisters, Mrs. Melissa Thigpen, Augusta, and Mrs. Cleon Usry, Thomson, Ga.; 22 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. LOUISVILLE -- Mrs. Marie Wren Godowns, 82, died Dec. 10 at Columbia-Augusta Hospital.
She was born in Jefferson County. She was a homemaker and a member of Providence Baptist Church.
SURVIVORS: three sons, William Thomas Godowns, Billy Lewis Godowns and Robert Wilbur Godowns, all of Louisville; four daughters, Frances G. Smith of Avera, Dorothy Rayburn of Galax, Va., Kay Downs of Hiawassee and Joanna McNeely of Wadley; 17 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren

William was born in Stellaville, Jefferson Co, GA March 6, 1910. William was the son of William Hudson Godowns and Sarah Mozelle Jones. William died August 12, 1986 Jefferson Co, GA, at 76 years of age. Mr. William Jones Godowns, 76, Grange Road, Louisville, Georgia, entered into rest Tuesday, August 12, 1986, at Old Capital Inn Nursing Home. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 4 p.m. at Providence Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Jones officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jack Jones Godowns Jr., Randy Godowns, Bill Godowns, Robby Godowns, William Godowns Jr. and Jeff Lamb. Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Providence Baptist Church. Mr. Godowns was a lifelong resident of Jefferson County. He was a retired farmer and a member of Providence Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Marie W. Godowns; three sons, William T. Godowns, Billy Godowns and Robert W. Godowns, all of Louisville; four daughters, Frances Smith, Avera, Dorothy Rayburn, Beaumont, Texas, Kay Downs and Joanna Godowns, both of Louisville; three sisters, Betty Boulineau, Stellaville, Rebie Weatherford, Wrens and Margie Cobb, Davisboro; three brothers, Louie Godowns and Wilbur Godowns, both of Louisville, and Judson Godowns, San Antonio, Texas.
