1. William1 Chapman was born about 1820. William died 1845 at 25 years of age.
He married Cyrilla Chapman about 1839. Cyrilla was born about 1820. Cyrilla died 1850 at 30 years of age.
William Chapman and Cyrilla Chapman had the following child:
2 i. Caroline Louisa2 Chapman was born South Glastenbury, Conn December 4, 1840. Her gravestone has her birth year as 1840 In the 1900 census her birth date is recorded as Dec 1839. Caroline died March 22, 1925 in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey, at 84 years of age. Her gravestone has her death year as 1925 Obituary Easton Express March 24, 1925 Mrs Caroline Louise Robbins, wife of Jonathan Robbins, died March 23, 1925 at her home, near the Hickory, in the vicinity of Little York, aged 85 years. Death resulted from a complication of allments. Besides her husband Mrs Robbins is surived by two sons by a former marriage, Oliver Godown of Bloomsbury, and Frank Godown of Flemington. She was a member of Little York Methodist Episcopal church. She married twice.
She married Jacob C Godown in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey, 1857. Jacob was born Hickory Corner, Hunterdon, NJ May 10, 1827. Jacob was the son of John A Godown and Abigail Robins. Jacob died June 20, 1888 Hickory Corner, Hunterdon, NJ, at 61 years of age. He is buried in the Methodist church graveyard in Pattenburg. (See Jacob C Godown for the continuation of this line.)
She married Jonathan Robins Alexandria Twp, Hunterdon Co, NJ, April 21, 1894. Jonathan was born Alexandria Twp, Hunterdon Co, NJ May 1852. Jonathan was the son of Jonas Robins and Sarah Jane Case. Jonathan died March 6, 1927 Alexandria Twp, Hunterdon Co, NJ, at 74 years of age. Caroline was born at her maternal grandmothers home in South Glastonbury, Connecticut. Her family came from England in the middle 1600's. Caroline's father, William, was a blacksmith and died when she was 5 years old. Her mother Cyrilla then married William Green of New York City. Cyrilla died when Caroline was 10. She then returned to Connecticut to live with relatives til death broke up those homes. She then came to New Brunswick, N.J. to work in the rubber mill there.
She was always very proud of being a Yankee.
At 17, she married Jacob and spent the rest of a long, and useful life in the Hickory neighborhood. She was very alert with vivid memories. Her judgement was constantly sought. In middle age, she married her husband's cousin, Jonathan Robins.
In the 1910 census Alexandria Twp Hunterdon Co NJ page 2B, Caroline (age 70) is married to Jonathan Robbins (age 57) and are living with Frank Godown (age 45) and adopted daughter Emely Ladder (age 18).
