Commercial Appeal, The (Memphis, TN) Wednesday, June 4, 1997 CAROLYN COBB GODOWN, 90, of Memphis, died Monday at Bright Glade Nursing Home after a stroke. Private graveside services will be at Memorial Park. Memorial Park Funeral Home has charge. She was a member of Mullins United Methodist Church, and a graduate of Vanderbilt University, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. Mrs. Godown, the widow of Joseph Linton Godown, leaves a daughter, Marion Godown Bloom of Germantown; a son, James Moran Godown of Memphis; a brother, Charles H. Cobb of Union City, Tenn., and three grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the charity of the donor's choice.

Goey was born Columbus, Franklin Co, OH March 25, 1906. Goey(611) was the son of Joseph Andrus Godown and Rachel Linton. Goey died March 29, 1992 in Memphis TN, at 86 years of age. He died of prostate cancer

Commercial Appeal, The (Memphis, TN) Monday, March 30, 1992 JOSEPH LINTON GODOWN, 86, of Memphis, artist and retired questioned document examiner, died Sunday at Bright Glade Nursing Home. Private graveside services will be Monday at Memorial Park. Memorial Park Funeral Home has charge.
