2. John B2 Cain (John1) was born in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey April 7, 1804. John died August 12, 1885 in Canoe Creek, Rock Island Co, IL, at 81 years of age. Buried at Bethesda Cemetery, Hillsdale, Rock Island Co, Illinois

He married Anna Myers in Amwell Twp, Hunterdon Co, New Jersey, January 8, 1825. Anna was born in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey September 11, 1799. Anna was the daughter of Albertus Myers and Anna Hann. Anna died April 24, 1882 in Canoe Creek, Rock Island Co, IL, at 82 years of age. Buried at Bethesda Cemetery, Hillsdale, Rock Island Co, Illinois In the 1830 census Amwell Twp, Hunterdon Co, NJ page 346, a John Cain is recorded with 2 males under 5, 2 males 15-20, 1 male 20-30, 1 female under 5, and 1 female 20-30.

In the 1840 census Deleware Twp, Hunterdon Co NJ page 1, a John Cain is recorded on the same page as Isaac Godown. There are 2 male 5-10, 1 male 30-40, 1 female under 5, 1 female 40-50, and 1 female 80-90.

In the 1850 census Hopewell Twp Mercer Co NJ page 113B, John (age 46), is recorded with Anna (age 51), and Sarah (age 21).

In the 1860 census Canoe Creek, Rock Island, Illinois page 698, John (age 56) is recorded with Anna (age 59). John (age 72), Hannah (age 23) and a farm hand Hiram Reck (age 24). All were born in NJ.

In the 1870 census Canoe Creek, Rock Island, Illinois page 81, John (age 66) is recorded with Anna (age 70), Hannah McMurphy (age 33) and Lucinda McMurphy (age 7). All were born in NJ. John is a retired farmer born in NJ. Recorded on the same page is Jane Kane (age 43), Joseph Kane (age 20), John B Kane (age 28) and Joseph Kane (age 70). Joseph Kane is noted as being with brother which must refer to John Kane (age 66).

In the 1880 census Canoe Creek, Rock Island, Illinois page 229, John (age 76) is recorded with his wife Anna (age 80). Both were born in NJ.

John B Cain and Anna Myers had the following children:

child 5 iii. Sarah Ann Cain was born in New Jersey 1829. Sarah died 1916 in Rock Island Co, Illinois, at 87 years of age. Buried at Cordova Cemetery, Cordova, Rock Island Co, Illinois She married Jacob H Marshall in Rock Island Co, Illinois, June 4, 1852.

Jacob was born in Hopewell Twp, Mercer Co, NJ November 28, 1828. Jacob died 1911 Cordova, Rock Island Co, IL, at 82 years of age. Buried at Cordova Cemetery, Cordova, Rock Island Co, Illinois (See Jacob H Marshall for the continuation of this line.)

child 6 iv. Hiram Cain was born in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey 1831. Hiram died 1919 in Hillsdale, Rock Island Co, Illinois, at 88 years of age. Burial: Bethesda Cemetery Hillsdale, Rock Island County, Illinois, USA

child 7 v. John H Cain was born in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey November 8, 1832. John died March 28, 1905 in Hillsdale, Rock Island Co, Illinois, at 72 years of age. Buried at Bethesda Cemetery, Hillsdale, Rock Island Co, Illinois

child 8 vi. Hannah Cain was born in New Jersey December 10, 1837. Hannah died March 13, 1900 in Rock Island Co, Illinois, at 62 years of age. Burial: Fairfield Cemetery Rock Island, Rock Island County, Illinois, USA She married twice.

She married George Rodney McMurphy. George was born in Rock Island Co, Illinois August 31, 1815. George died April 22, 1866 in Rock Island Co, Illinois, at 50 years of age. She married Henry Ashdown. Henry was born England August 24, 1829. Henry died April 13, 1904 in Rock Island Co, Illinois, at 74 years of age. Burial: Fairfield Cemetery Rock Island, Rock Island County, Illinois, USA
