He married Martha M Buchanan in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey, 1883. Martha was born in New Jersey June 1861. In the 1900 census Franklin Twp, Hunterdon Co NJ page 103B, William (age 46) is living with his wife Martha (age 34), sons William (age 15), George (age 10), Charles (age 8), Russell (age 2), daughters Annie (age 2) and Elsie (age 8 months). William and Martha have been maried 16 years and have had 6 children. William has the occupation of farmer and rents his farm.

William Crips and Martha M Buchanan had the following children:

6 iii. Charles J Crips⁽⁷⁰²⁾ was born in New Jersey October 28, 1892. Charles died July 1962 in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey, at 69 years of age. Buried at Sand Brook Cemetery Sand Brook, Delaware Twp, Hunterdon Co, New Jersey He married Sarah V Gordon.

8 v. Russell Crips⁽⁷⁰⁵⁾ was born in New Jersey January 24, 1898. Russell died June 11, 1991 at 93 years of age.

9 vi. Elsie Crips⁽⁷⁰⁶⁾ was born Franklin Twp, Hunterdon Co, NJ October 1899. She married Ernest Warner in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey, 1920. Ernest was born Lambertville, Hunterdon Co, NJ August 1899. 10 vii. Melissa Crips⁽⁷⁰⁷⁾ was born in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey September 9, 1900. Melissa died July 1966 Lambertville, Hunterdon Co, NJ, at 65 years of age. She married Walter Kintzel in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey, 1920. Walter was born in New Jersey May 14, 1900. Walter died July 1984 Lambertville, Hunterdon Co, NJ, at 84 years of age. 11 viii. Elizabeth Crips⁽⁷⁰⁸⁾ was born in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey 1904. She married Thomas E Burns in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey, 1920. Thomas was born in New Jersey January 25, 1900. 12 ix. Bessie Crips⁽⁷⁰⁹⁾ was born in New Jersey March 6, 1906. Anna died March 1987 Lambertville, Hunterdon Co, NJ, at 81 years of age. She married William Oliver Godown in New Jersey, 1922. William was born Bucks Co, Pennsylvania August 18, 1898. William⁽⁷¹⁰⁾ was the son of Oliver Godown and Mary Ann Winter. William died July 1972 Lambertville, Hunterdon Co, NJ, at 73 years of age.
