1. John¹ Crips⁽⁶⁹⁹⁾ was born in New Jersey 1815. John died before 1900 in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey.

He married Alladay McGaw in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey, September 2, 1851. The Hunterdon Cnty records have the marrage date as Sep 2 1861. In the 1860 census they are already recorded as living in the same household. Need more research.

Ella was born in New Jersey June 1819. Ella died about 1905 Franklin Twp, Hunterdon Co, NJ. In the 1860 census Deleware Twp Hunterdon Co NJ page 398, John (age 45) is living with Alida (age 41), William (age 6) and Mary (age 8). John has the occupation of Farmer with a property value of $1,800 and personal value of $600.

In the 1870 census Deleware Twp Hunterdon Co NJ page 139A, John (age 54) is living with Alida (age 51), William (age 16) and Mary (age 17). John has the occupation of Farmer. The last name is listed as Crips.

In the 1880 census Raritan, Hunterdon, New Jersey page 150, John (age 64) is recorded with Aladay (age 61), Mary (age 29), and William (age 26). John is noted as being a Laborer.

John Crips and Alladay McGaw had the following children:

2 i. Mary Elizabeth² Crips was born in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey September 1851. Mary died about 1911. She married Henry Putcher in New Jersey, 1892. Henry was born in Germany June 1861. (See Henry Putcher for the continuation of this line.) In the 1900 census Franklin Twp, Hunterdon Co NJ page 103, Mary (age 48) is living with her husband Henry Prutcher (age 38), son Henry (age 9) and daughter Lizzie (age 11). Also in the household is Ella (age 80) Mary's mother. Henry came to this country in 1884. They have been married for 7 years and have 2 children.
