He married Sarah A Barker in Hampshire, VA, about 1820. Sallie was born in Medina Co, Ohio 1799. Sallie died about 1890 in Hampshire Co, WV. In the 1850 census District 24, Hampshire Co, VA (becomes WV in 1863) page 238, Beal (age 49) is living wih Sarah (age 45) and Robert (age 10). He is noted as a laborer. There is a Washington Cross listed on page 285 who could be a relation.

In the 1860 census Slanesville, Hampshire Co, VA (becomes WV in 1863) page 76, Beal (age 59) is living wih Sarah (age 59) and Robert (age 20). He is noted as a farmer but with no value noted. All were born in VA.
