1. Frederick¹ Fable was born in Pennsylvania May 1830.

He married Catherine Jane unknown in Monroe Co, PA, 1850. Catherine was born in Pennsylvania September 1832. (Additional notes for Catherine Jane unknown⁽¹⁰²⁵⁾) In the 1860 census Bartons Villa P.O. Pocono Twp, Monroe Twp PA page 665, Fredrick (age 30), is recorded with Jane (age 28), Elmira (age 9), James? (age 7), Sarah (age 5), and Joseph (age 3). Fredrick is noted as a farmer.

In the 1870 census Jackson Corners P.O. Stroudsburg, Monroe Co, PA page 211, Fredrick (age 39) is recorded with Jame (age 37), Elmiriah (age 18), James (age 17), Sarah (age 15), Joseph (age 12), Emma (age 9), William (age 6), and George (age 3). The last name is spelled Fabel.

In the 1880 census Hamilton Twp, Monroe Co PA page 278, Fredrick (age 50) is recorded with his wife Catharine J (age 48) Emma (age 18), William (age 16), George (age 13), Nettie (age 10), Frank (age 7), Jennie (age 5), and Mary (age 2). The last name is spelled Fabel.

In the 1900 census Stroudsburg, Monroe Co, PA page 173, Fredrick (age 70) is recorded with his wife Catherine (age 68). They have been married 50 years and have had 12 children with 10 living at the time of the census. Again the last name is spelled Fabel. So apparently they changed the spelling of their name?

Frederick Fable and Catherine Jane unknown had the following children:

3 ii. James Fable⁽¹⁰²⁷⁾ was born in Monroe Co, PA 1853.

4 iii. Sarah Fable⁽¹⁰²⁸⁾ was born in Monroe Co, PA 1855.

5 iv. Joseph Fable was born in Monroe Co, PA 1857.

6 v. Emma Fable was born in Monroe Co, PA 1861.

7 vi. Frank Fable⁽¹⁰²⁹⁾ was born in Monroe Co, PA 1863.

8 vii. William Fable⁽¹⁰³⁰⁾ was born in Monroe Co, PA 1864.

9 viii. George Fable⁽¹⁰³¹⁾ was born in Monroe Co, PA 1867.

10 ix. Nettie Fable was born in Monroe Co, PA 1870.

11 x. Jennie Fable was born in Monroe Co, PA 1875.

12 xi. Mary M Fable⁽¹⁰³²⁾ was born in Hamilton Twp, NJ March 1878. She married Clayton T Heckman in Stroudsburg, Monroe Co, PA, July 21, 1896. Marriage license reads: Clayton T. Heckman, age 19, residing in Nazerath, parents - George and ? (Armeuton) Heckman, occupation - cigar mtgr., born in Nazerath. Mary Fable, age 18, residing in Stroudsburg, parents - Frederick and Catherine Jane Fable, born in Hamilton township. Married 7/21/1896 in Stroudsburg, by Rev B. F. Apple Marriage License Vol 5, page 147, Lic # 1159.

Clayton was born in Nazareth, Northampton Co, PA January 1877. Clayton⁽¹⁰³³⁾ was the son of George Adam Heckman and Araminda M. Hummel. (See Clayton T Heckman for the continuation of this line.)
