1. Hugh¹ Gillaspie⁽¹²³⁵⁾ was born in Ross Co, Ohio March 20, 1817. Hugh died December 6, 1880 in VanBuren Co, Iowa, at 63 years of age. buried in Holsworth Cemetery Van Buren County Iowa

He married Nancy Miller in Mercer Co, Ohio, March 15, 1838. Nancy was born 1815. (Additional notes for Nancy Miller⁽¹²³⁶⁾) Nancy died 1890 at 75 years of age.

Hugh Gillaspie and Nancy Miller had the following child:

+ 2 i. Alexander Calvin² Gillaspie was born July 6, 1851.
