Clarence died October 11, 1939 Miami Co, Ohio, at 54 years of age. buried in Mote, (Pitsburg) Cemetery, Monroe Twp Darke Co Ohio.

"Father of 10 Dead Clarence Godown, 54, died at noon Wednesday at his farm home east of Versailles after a lingering illness. Godown had formerly resided at Laura. He leaves a widow, May; four sons and six daughters. He married Maisy Mae Norris Franklin Twp, Darke Co, OH, September 28, 1907. Mazie was born Miami Co, Ohio December 22, 1889. Mazie(1774) was the daughter of William Harvey Norris and Laura Bell Heffelfinger. Mazie died August 26, 1941 in Darke Co. Ohio, at 51 years of age. Buried at Mote Cemetery Clarence and Maisy had 11 children. Clarence is burried in Mote Cemetery, Monroe Twp. Darke Co, Ohio.

In the 1910 census Newton Twp, Miami Co, Ohio, page 292, Clarence (age 24) is recorded with his wife May M (age 20), sons Estery D (age 2) and Harold L 8 months. They have been married for 2 years ahd have had 2 children. He is a general farmer and rent their home. Since they are right next door to William Norris, Maisy's father, I would think that Clarence is working for him.

In the 1920 census Potsdam Lama Pike, Union Twp, Miami Co Ohio. page 47B, Clarence (age 33) is living with his wife Mae (age 30), sons Harold (age 10), Clinton (age 13 months), daughters Lena (age 7), Mary (age 6) and Velma (age 3 and 7 months). All the family was born in Ohio and Clarence has the occupation of farmer.

In the 1930 census VanBuren Twp, Darke Co Ohio. page 249, Clarence (age 44) is recorded with his wife Mae (age 40), sons Harold (age 20), Clinton (age 11), daughters Leona (age 18), Mary (age 16) and Velma (age 13), Ina (age 9), Opal (age 7) Anna May (age 4y9m), and Kenneth (age 1y8m). All the family was born in Ohio and Clarence has the occupation of farmer.

She married Roy Albert Fourman in Darke Co. Ohio, May 21, 1934.

Roy was born Greenville, Darke Co, OH May 19, 1904. Roy(1777) was the son of Clarence Charles Fourman and Martha Opel Vanatta. Roy died May 29, 1952 Greenville, Darke Co, OH, at 48 years of age. Roy died of a heart attach while driving his car trrough the village of Jaysville.

Godown, age 80, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2011 at 5:00 AM at his residence. He was born July 7, 1930 in Darke County, Ohio, the son of the late Clarence Leroy & Mazie Mae (Norris) Godown. He worked for Perfect Circle Dana Corporation for 42 years, was a Neave twp. Trustee for 32 years, took care of Oak Grove Cemetery for 25 years, he helped start Tri Village Rescue and served on the board for the rescue, sold monuments for Edwin Nickol Monument Co. for 20 years, also worked at Walls Brothers Construction in Ft. Jefferson. He was a member of the Greenville Moose Lodge # 324; Greenville Fraternal Order of Eagles; Greenville Elks; and Fort Jefferson United Methodist Church for 49 years. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harold, Esta, Clinton, and Kenneth Godown; sisters, Leona Fourman, Mary Holsapple, Velma Holsapple, Ina Boolman, and Opal Zeller. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Mary Alice (Wogoman) Godown of Greenville; son & daughter in law, Rick & Marcia Godown of Tupelo, Mississippi, daughters & sons in law: Gloria & Steve Kauffman of Pitsburg, Ohio, and Connie & Doug North of Arcanum; grandchildren, Kristina (Sean) Thornton, Trent (Lesley) Godown, Shelley (Scott) Robinson, Kayne (Natalie) Kauffman, Jason (Jessica) North, Nick (Becca) North; 10 great grandchildren; sister, Anna Mae Christian of Ansonia; & numerous nieces & nephews. Service will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Rev. Doug Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
