Charlie died May 22, 1961 in McDuffie Co, Georgia, at 60 years of age. Tuesday, May 23, 1961 Augusta Chronicle Thomson, GA - Charlie Reamer Godowns, 61, died Monday. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Tuesday at the First Baptist Church, With Rev. Rudolph Evans and Rev Dan Brewster Officiating. Mr. Godowns died unexpectedly. He was a Jefferson County native, son of the late Charlie E and Bianna Brinson Godowns. He had made his home in Thomson since 1924. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Freddie Mae McBride Godowns of Thomson; five daughters, Mrs Marvin W Parrish, Mrs George T. Coleman Jr., Mrs R. A. Thrift, and Mrs Roy McCarty all of Thomson; and Mrs W.O. Williams of Augusta; one sister, Mrs J.W. Murray of Augusta; 14 grandchildren and a large number of nieces and Nephews,
He married Freddie Mae McBride. Freddie was born Nov 29, 1901. Freddie was the daughter of B F McBride. Freddie died January 23, 1984 Thomson, McDuffie Co, GA, at 82 years of age. Charles is recorded with his sister Gladys and family in the 1920 census.

Marjorie Gladys Thrift passed away peacefully at the Oak Ridge Methodist Medical Center on Tuesday, January 31, 2017. She was born March 24, 1927. Marjorie retired from the Rockdale County School System where she was cafeteria manager at CJ Hicks and JH House schools. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Conyers. Preceded in death by her mother, Freddie McBride Godowns and father, Charles R. Godowns of Thomson, GA; husband, Robert Allen Thrift, Sr.; sisters, Nell Coleman, Hazel Parrish and Vivian Williams of Thomson, GA; her son, Tommy G. Newsome and granddaughter, Kim Newsome. She is survived by her sister, Billie McCarty of Thomson, GA; sons, Robert Allen Thrift, Jr. and wife, Lynn of Mansfield, GA, David H. Newsome and wife, Jan of Clinton, TN; daughter, Susan Diane Wheeler of Clarkesville, GA; grandchildren, Kelsey Thrift Duvall and husband, Clay, Coleman Thrift, Travis Thrift, Scott Wheeler, Brian Wheeler, Tina Newsome Warren, Melinda Newsome Wright, Robert Newsome and wife, Mary Jessica, Blaine Newsome and wife, Mary, Adam Newsome, Alex Newsome; eleven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 12 p.m. at Scot Ward's Green Meadow Chapel with Pastor Michael Dunbar officiating; interment will follow at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens. She married Robert Allen Thrift.
Bobbie was born in Kentucky March 31, 1931. Bobbie died January 10, 1996 in Kentucky, at 64 years of age.
