He married Alice unknown in Medina Co, Ohio, 1898. Alice was born in Indiana September 1880. Alice died about 1925 in Allen Twp, Darke Co, Ohio. In the 1900 census Rossville Village, Allen Twp, Darke Co Ohio page 47, Hayes (age 23) is recorded with his wife Alice (age 19) and Gladys (age 9m). They have been married for 1 year and have 1 child. Hayes is noted as a day laborer. Alice and her mother is noted as being born in Indiana and father's birth place is unknown.

In the 1910 census Allen Twp, Darke Co Ohio page 168, Hayes (age 33) is recorded with his wife Alice (age 29) and Gladys (age 10) Imo? (age 8), Chloe (age 6), Wandy (age 4), and Evelyn (age 2). They have been married for 11 years and have 5 child. Hayes is noted as a farmer. Alice was born in Indiana and the others in Ohio. He is recorded right next to his uncle Ezekiel.

In the 1920 census Allen Twp, Darke Co Ohio page 43, George H (age 43) widower is recorded with Chloe (age 16), Evelyn (age 11) and Isaac L (age 9). George is noted as a farmer. Thelma is with her Uncle Daniel Vantree, Gibson Twp, Mercer Co Ohio.

In the 1930 census Allen Twp, Darke Co Ohio page 222, George H (age 53) widower is recorded with Helen C (age 25), Irene E (age 21) Isaac L (age 19) and Margurite Thelma (age 17). George is noted as a farmer. All births are recorded as Ohio.

Hayes George Gibson and Alice unknown had the following children:

child 23 i. Gladys Delpha5 Gibson was born in Burkettsville, Mercer Co, Ohio September 10, 1899. Gladys died June 23, 1982 in Piqua, Miami Co, OH, at 82 years of age. She married Raymond C Lake in Medina Co, Ohio, 1924. Raymond was born New York 1896. (See Raymond C Lake for the continuation of this line.)

child 26 iv. Wanda Jean Gibson was born in Allen Twp, Darke Co, Ohio 1906. Wanda died August 15, 1950 Pitsburg, Darke Co, OH, at 44 years of age. burried in Mote Cemetery in Darke Co. Ohio She married Burr R Cross about 1930.

Burr was born in Hampshire Co, WV 1901. Burr was the son of Granville Cross and Viola Blance May Malcolm. Burr died 1951 at 50 years of age. buried in Mote Cenetery, Darke Co Ohio (See Burr R Cross for the continuation of this line.) Obituary dated August 15th 1950 reads:

Mrs. Wanda Jean Cross, 44, wife of Burr Cross, died suddenly at 8:30 am today at her home in Pitsburg following a heart attack. The body was removed to the Stutz and Sando funeral home, Arcanum, pending the completion of burial arrangements. Mrs. Cross, who had lived in Pitsburg for the last fifteen years, was a member of the Arcanum Eastern Star Chapter. Surviving are the husband; one daughter Donna Butcher of Troy, a son, Richard, at home; one grandchild; a brother Roy Gibson, who serves in the U.S. Army, and four sisters, Mrs. Gladys Lake, of Piqua OH, and Mrs. Thelma Heck, Mrs. Helen McBride and Mrs Evelyn Swafford, all of Dayton OH.

child 27 v. Evelyn Irene Gibson(1239) was born in Allen Twp, Darke Co, Ohio April 15, 1908. Evelyn died April 1984 in Union Twp, Montgomery Co, Ohio, at 76 years of age.
