2. Jonathan Reading² Higgins (Jonathan¹) was born in Amwell Twp, Hunterdon Co, New Jersey January 16, 1792. Jonathan died February 19, 1865 at 73 years of age.

He married Rhoda Godown Flemington, Hunterdon Co, NJ, July 25, 1818. Rhoda was born about 1795. Rhoda was the daughter of Jacob Godown and Sarah Elizabeth Lake.

Jonathan Reading Higgins and Rhoda Godown had the following children:

3 i. Mary Ann³ Higgins⁽²⁵⁷⁵⁾ was born about 1819.

4 ii. Sarah Jane Higgins⁽²⁵⁷⁶⁾ was born about 1821. She married George Metcalf Chamberlin. George was born about 1820.
