3. Richard3 Haines (John2, John1) was born about 1640.
He married Margaret S unknown about 1665. "Richard Haines and Margaret his wife of "Aynhoe of ye Hill" Northamptpnshire, England, with their children Richard, William, Thomas and Mary sailed from the Downs, England in the ship AMITY April 1682. They has a long and tedious voyage; Richard, the father, sickened and died, and after his death Joseph, the fifth son was born mid-ocean. John, the eldest son, came to America two years previously and lived in a cave in "Haines" Bank, below Lumberton, NJ, on the south bank of the Rancocas Creek. The family landed in Burlington, NJ in the fall of the year 1682."

4 i. John4 Haines(2039) was born 1664. John died November 1728 at 64 years of age. He married Esther Borton Evesham, Burlington Co, NJ, 1684. Esther was born in Anyho, Northampton, England April 3, 1667. Esther died 1719 in Rancocas, Burlington Co, NJ, at 52 years of age. John Haines came with the Bortons to NJ in 1679 on the GRIFFIN
+ 5 ii. Richard R Haines Jr was born 1665.
6 iii. Thomas Haines(2040) was born Aynhoe, Northamptonshire, England December 22, 1666. Thomas died August 1753 in Northampton, NJ, at 86 years of age. He married Elizabeth Austin Evesham, Burlington Co, NJ, November 7, 1692. Elizabeth was born Evesham, Burlington Co, NJ about 1675.
7 iv. William Haines(2041) was born April 24, 1672. William died 1754 at 82 years of age. He married Sarah Paine Burlington Co, NJ, 1695. Sarah was born about 1675.
8 v. Mary Haines(2042) was born June 30, 1676.
9 vi. Joseph Haines(2043) was born 1682. Born at sea on the "Amity"
