2. Jonathan² Higgins (Jonathan¹) was born in Amwell Twp, Hunterdon Co, New Jersey July 1, 1756. Jonathan died October 11, 1829 in Amwell Twp, Hunterdon Co, New Jersey, at 73 years of age.

He married Mary Reading November 17, 1785. Mary was born about 1756. Mary was the daughter of Thomas Reading and Rebecca Ellis. Mary is Jonathan's second wife

Jonathan Higgins and Mary Reading had the following child:
