1. Samuel¹ Hill was born in Bethlehem Twp, Hunterdon Co, NJ 1749. Samuel died March 5, 1788 in Sussex Co, New Jersey, at 38 years of age.

He married Elizabeth Opdyke in Bethlehem Twp, Hunterdon Co, NJ, 1766. Elizabeth was born Kingwood Twp, Hunterdon Co, NJ 1750. Elizabeth was the daughter of Joshua Opdyke and Ann Green. Elizabeth died 1820 at 70 years of age.

Samuel Hill and Elizabeth Opdyke had the following children:

2 i. Joseph² Hill⁽²⁵⁷⁵⁾ was born in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey 1769. Joseph died September 17, 1849 in New Jersey, at 80 years of age. He married twice. He married Abbie Hunt in New Jersey, May 9, 1802. Abbie was born about 1770. Abbie⁽²⁵⁷⁶⁾ was the daughter of Ralph Hunt and Elizabeth Phillips. He married Mary Price November 1, 1807. Mary was born 1779. Mary was the daughter of Zachariah Price and Mary Depuy. Mary died 1845 at 66 years of age.

3 ii. Martha Hill was born in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey 1770. Martha died May 12, 1820 at 49 years of age.

4 iii. Jonathan Hill⁽²⁵⁷⁷⁾ was born in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey about 1772. He married Elizabeth Price November 15, 1818. Elizabeth was born in Sussex Co, New Jersey about 1776. Elizabeth⁽²⁵⁷⁸⁾ was the daughter of Zachariah Price and Mary Depuy.

5 iv. Anna Nancy Hill⁽²⁵⁷⁹⁾ was born in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey June 1, 1775. Anna died January 31, 1854 at 78 years of age. She married John Hunt in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey, January 3, 1809. John was born in Mercer Co, NJ October 1768. John was the son of Ralph Hunt and Elizabeth Phillips. John died July 1846 at 77 years of age.

6 v. Sarah Hill⁽²⁵⁸⁰⁾ was born in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey about 1776.

7 vi. Joshua Hill⁽²⁵⁸¹⁾ was born in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey about 1778.

8 vii. Luther Samuel Hill was born in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey about 1784. He married Elsie Wilcox. (Additional notes for Elsie Wilcox⁽²⁵⁸²⁾)

9 viii. Catherine Hill⁽²⁵⁸³⁾ was born in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey about 1790. She married Noah P Vail. (Additional notes for Noah P Vail⁽²⁵⁸⁴⁾)

10 ix. Ruhannah Hill was born in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey about 1800. Ruhannah died May 4, 1821 at 20 years of age. She married Jehu Curtis in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey, January 2, 1820. John was born Kingwood Twp, Hunterdon Co, NJ October 9, 1790. John was the son of Obadiah Curtis and Anna Yard. John died 1876 in Hackettstown, Warren Co, NJ, at 85 years of age.
