Camas, Wash. - May 22 (1935) Funeral services were held yesterday for Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Herring, 96, one the earliest pioneers in the district who came west by ox team and covered wagon in 1860. She died Saturday. She and her husband were among the first white persons to settle in Linn County, Oregon, having made their home there immediately after coming west.
She married Hiram Herring in Missouri in 1853. She was the mother of 17 children. Mr. Herring died in 1909, after they had been married 56 years

Hans was born in Denmark May 6, 1871. Hans died April 18, 1954 in Washoulgal, Clark Co, Washington, at 82 years of age. Buried at Washougal Memorial Cemetery, Washougal, Clark Co, Washington
Hans J. Christiansen, 82 years of age and a 45 year resident of Washougal, died Sunday, April 18 at his home.
Mr. Christiansen was born May 6, 1871 in Denmark and came to Washougal in 1909. He went to work at the Washougal Woolen Mill and on his retirement was credited with 40 years service.
He is survived by his wife, Ella, of Washougal; two sons, John H. Christiansen of Washougal and Louis O. Christiansen of Vancouver; three daughters, Mrs. Alex Martell and Mrs. Alice Burgess of Washougal and Mrs. L.P. Grout of Tacoma; a step daughter, Mrs. Irving Dawson of Washougal; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
