1. George¹ Holcombe was born in New Jersey December 21, 1781. George died July 5, 1855 in Amwell Twp, Hunterdon Co, New Jersey, at 73 years of age.

He married Catherine Butterfoss October 1, 1803. Catherine was born in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey November 25, 1785. Catherine was the daughter of Daniel Andrew Butterfoss and Esther Ent. Catherine died October 16, 1851 at 65 years of age. In the 1850 census Amwell Twp, Hunterdon Co NJ page 1, George (age 68), is recorded with Catherine (age 66), Catherine (age 27), and Emily (age 11). George is a farmer and all births are NJ.

George Holcombe and Catherine Butterfoss had the following children:

2 i. Esther² Holcombe was born in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey July 12, 1805. Esther died November 24, 1860 at 55 years of age. She married John Hoagland Wilson in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey, about 1825. John was born in Amwell Twp, Hunterdon Co, New Jersey January 12, 1804. John was the son of John Wilson and Martha Hoagland. John died May 12, 1892 in Amwell Twp, Hunterdon Co, New Jersey, at 88 years of age. (See John Hoagland Wilson for the continuation of this line.)

3 ii. Eleanor Holcombe was born in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey September 20, 1806. Eleanor died February 4, 1881 at 74 years of age. She married John Eckel Matthews January 30, 1829. John was born June 1, 1808. John died August 9, 1847 at 39 years of age.

4 iii. Richard Holcombe was born in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey September 19, 1808. Richard died May 11, 1810 at 1 year of age.

5 iv. Hannah Ann Holcombe was born in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey November 17, 1809. Hannah died November 14, 1869 in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey, at 59 years of age. She married Benjamin Larison in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey, February 28, 1829. Benjamin was born in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey January 5, 1805. Benjamin died January 21, 1892 in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey, at 87 years of age.

+ 6 v. Daniel B Holcombe was born June 23, 1811.

7 vi. George B Holcombe was born in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey February 5, 1815. George died March 26, 1893 in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey, at 78 years of age. He married twice. He married Anna L Robbins. Anna was born about 1815. He married Louisa Holcombe October 12, 1841. Louisa was born January 22, 1818. Louisa died December 1, 1852 at 34 years of age.

8 vii. Ethalinda Holcombe was born in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey November 11, 1817. Ethalinda died December 4, 1889 at 72 years of age. She married Samuel W Dilts. Samuel was born June 9, 1809. Samuel died February 22, 1874 at 64 years of age.

9 viii. Wilkinson J Holcombe was born in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey January 29, 1819. Wilkinson died May 20, 1891 at 72 years of age. He married Rosanna A Matthews. Rosanna was born January 18, 1817. Rosanna died September 12, 1909 at 92 years of age.

+ 10 ix. Andrew W Holcombe was born September 23, 1821.

11 x. Catherine Holcombe was born in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey August 31, 1823. Catherine died July 28, 1895 in Amwell Twp, Hunterdon Co, New Jersey, at 71 years of age. She married John Hoagland Wilson May 12, 1869. John was born in Amwell Twp, Hunterdon Co, New Jersey January 12, 1804. John was the son of John Wilson and Martha Hoagland. John died May 12, 1892 in Amwell Twp, Hunterdon Co, New Jersey, at 88 years of age.
