8. Willis2 Lake (William1) was born in Logan Twp, Dearborn Co, IN November 23, 1822. Willis died November 10, 1903 in Fayette Co, IN, at 80 years of age.
He married Elizabeth Ray in Fayette Co, IN, about 1845. Elizabeth was born in Medina Co, Ohio October 17, 1824. Elizabeth died April 14, 1907 in Jackson Twp, Fayette Co, IN, at 82 years of age. In the 1850 census in Jackson Twp, Fayette Co, Indiana page 292, Willis (age 28) is recorded with Elizabeth (age 25), Margaret (age 5), Mary (age 3) and Lewis (age 1). Willis is a farmer born in Indiana.
In the 1900 census Jackson Township, Fayette County, Indiana page 108, Willis (age 77) is recorded with his wife Elizabeth (age 75). They have been married for 56 years and have had 9 children with 5 living at the time of the census. Right next door is a Zachariah Lake (age 41). You would assume they are somehow related.
